Energie completes Irish clubs rebranding
Health club operator énergie Group has completed the rebranding of nine Irish clubs that were acquired from Jackie Skelly Fitness earlier this year.
More than EUR1.8m (£1.5m) has been spent on transforming the former Jackie Skelly estate, which includes two sites in Dublin - Ballsbridge and Clarendon Street. The other seven clubs are located in Ashbourne; Drogheda; Navan; Newbridge; Park West; Rathfarnham; and Swords.
Among the changes is the implementation of new colour schemes, furniture and flooring, while a suite of Precor equipment has been installed at the two Dublin sites. Jim Durie, énergie group's regional managing director, said: "We could never have predicted such a warm and enthusiastic welcome from everyone; without exception.
"There is a fantastic buzz around each club, people that have never even thought of joining a fitness club are coming to see us and the staff are proud to be part of the new énergie." The acqusition of the nine Jackie Skelly clubs in May added to énergie's existing Ireland portfolio, which includes sites in Belfast, Galway and Limerick.
