Enjoy England in marketing push
Enjoy England has launched a major £1.2m advertising campaign to encourage more Britons to take a short break or a day trip in England during 2007.
The campaign is spearheaded by a TV advertisement campaign which lets viewers “in on the secret” of a short break in England.
It aims to inspire consumers to discover surprising holidays in England’s urban, rural and coastal destinations as well as spa, culinary and active experiences and heritage and contemporary attractions.
The 40- and 10-second adverts will run on primetime terrestrial and satellite television from 1 January through to March.
Mike Bedingfield, director of marketing, said: “Britons take 111 million trips in England a year – well ahead of the 66.5 million they take abroad.
“We hope this campaign will impress people with the variety of holiday experiences available.”
The TV campaign coincides with the publication of the Enjoy England Great Ideas Guide for 2007. The free, 52-page brochure features a host of holiday experiences throughout the regions of England and can be ordered online.
The January campaign is the second part of the Sshh! marketing campaign, which ran last September. Details: www.enjoyengland.com
