FIA announces new name: ukactive
The Fitness Industry Association (FIA) has announced its new name and brand at its annual summit held in London today.
As part of plans to expand its reach and become a representative body for the entire physical activity sector, the association will now be known as ukactive.
A new website, www.ukactive.com, has been launched and new branding adopted to support the new identity.
On the website, ukactive states that its focus will be on a "long-standing and uncompromising vision to get more people, more active, more often".
It's mission statement says: "We are committed to improving the health of the nation through promoting active lifestyles.
"We will achieve this by facilitating big impact partnerships, championing innovation, providing high quality services to our members, campaigning, providing research and sharing insights. This is our promise to our members, stakeholders and the nation.
"We exist to serve any organisation with a role to play in, or benefit to be gained from getting more people, more active, more often.
"We will provide a supportive, professional and innovative platform for our partners to succeed in achieving their goals."
