Fitness First, one of the world’s largest health club chains, has appointed a new group chief financial officer.

Zillah Byng-Maddick, who recently held the same post at the Thresher Group, will join the company this autumn.

Byng-Maddick, who is also currently a non-executive director of Gondola Holdings, whose brands include Pizza Express and ASK, said: “I very much look forward to working with the board and senior management of Fitness First in driving the company forward.”
