Five lakes Resort in Essex has completed a new 80-bedroom development as part of an ecologically focussed project.

Creation of The Village, overlooking the Five Lakes Resort golf course, has included the installation of solar panels to heat water and natural gas for the entire resort.

Several specially commissioned electrical vehicles that emit no pollution provide transportation around the site.

The development – which was officially opened by the chair of Essex County Council, Councillor Anthony Peel – increases the total number of bedrooms at the resort 194.

Over the past 18 months, Five Lakes has opened a new fitness suite and aerobics studio and a fine dining restaurant to complement its existing facilities, which include18 conference rooms and 36,000sq ft exhibition hall.
