The Football Foundation has announced its latest awards on the organisation’s fifth anniversary.

Tingley Athletic, a junior club in Morley, West Yorkshire, has been without a permanent home since 1976 and has played games at various pitches in the area. The club received a grant of £595,000 towards a new pavilion, with changing facilities, an office and function areas.

Another award, of £358,000, was made to the Letchworth Garden City Eagles to begin construction of a new changing block.

Prime Minister, Tony Blair said of the Foundation’s anniversary: “It seems only yesterday that we launched the Football Foundation. Five years on it is not only a remarkable success but has become an integral part of our sports investment policy.”
