Football schemes receive funding boost
Work is set to get underway on new changing facilities at Kendal United Football Club (KUFC) in Cumbria, one of a number projects across Britain to have recently received Football Foundation funding.
The majority of funding for the £370,000 scheme, situated on Kendal's castle estate, has been provided by the charitable organisation to build a purpose-built facility including two dressing rooms with toilets, showers and separate drying areas, two referees rooms and a community room. Funding worth more than £8,500 is also to be awarded over the next three years to help the development of Dorset HealthCare NHS Foundation Trust's tea, while residents in Whitfield, Derbyshire will receive nearly £20,000 to install a new multi-use games area.
In addition, the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, supporters of the Football Foundation, has announced a grant of £13,000 for the University of Leeds to develop facilities that will enable the institution's men's football team to continue competing in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Premier League.
