Four Seasons Philadelphia’s crystal-inspired spa awarded Forbes five-star rating
Forbes has awarded its five-star Travel Guide Rating to the spa at Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center – a 1,121 ft, 60-storey skyscraper.
Unveiled in 2019, the top-floor spa has more than 700 pounds of gems embedded into the walls, seven treatment rooms, an infinity pool offering expansive panoramic views across the city and a fitness centre.
The rating is part of Forbes’ 2021 announcements and sees the spa become part of an exclusive group of less than 100 spas worldwide with the accolade.
Conceptualised with the help of spa consultant, Sylvia Sepielli, the spa features sleek and modern décor, highlighted in warm tones of birch wood, metallic finishes and fresh flowers by the world-renowned florist, Jeff Leatham.
“We’re completely humbled by this award,” said Verena Lasvigne-Fox, spa director, “there was a lot of thought, planning and conceptualising which went into the spa which created a really strong foundation.”
She helms the award-winning spa and has 12 years’ spa management experience under her belt, having previously managed Four Seasons spas in the Seychelles, Marrakech and Paris.
Lasvigne-Fox was in charge of developing programming and decided to centre its concept around crystals, as they’re a fundamental part of many ancient healing traditions.
“We weaved the theme of healing crystals throughout the space, from embedding the actual crystals into the walls, to our signature treatments, and even naming each treatment room after a crystal.”
Treatments are supplied by Dr Burgener Switzerland, Dr Barbara Sturm, May Lindstrom Skin’s organic line and men’s skincare range, Vitaman.
“Wellness isn’t just about appearance or feeling good,” concluded Lasvigne-Fox, “it’s about restoring and maintaining balance, physically and mentally.
“Our spa allows guests to immerse themselves in a haven of wellness and serenity – inspired by the healing power of crystals – and experience pure bliss in the clouds.”
