Fourth Plinth's latest artwork to be unveiled
A large sculpture depicting a child on a rocking horse, which has been created by Elmgreen and Dragset, will be unveiled at Trafalgar Square's Fourth Plinth in London next month.
London mayor Boris Johnson commissioned the Scandinavian duo's work - Powerless Structures, Fig 101 - last year to replace Yinka Shonibare's Nelson's Ship in a Bottle last January.
The sculpture was one of six works shortlisted as part of the Fourth Plinth programme, with another - Katherina Fritsch's Hahn/Cock - to take up residence in 2013.
Johnson said: "Elmgreen and Dragset have created a gleaming sculpture for the Fourth Plinth, which will be a high profile attraction during a summer like no other."
Elmgreen and Dragset added: "We always considered the small everyday battles in each person's life just as important for the understanding of our culture as any big sensational headlines."
