Fowey Hall hotel spa gears up for launch
A luxury new spa is on schedule to open in early October at Fowey Hall hotel near the seaside town of Fowey in Cornwall, UK.
Located alongside the hotel, the £1.5m (1.8m euro, US$2.6m) Aquae Sulis Retreat will be managed and overseen by the Luxury Family Hotels arm of the von Essen hotel group.
Designed by the in-house creative team at von Essen hotels, the facility will boast four treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a deck area with a hot tub overlooking the Fowey Estuary.
A range of signature Aquae Sulis treatments will be available together with therapies using Yon-ka and the ante- and post-natal brand Mama Mio.
Fowey Hall was built as a private home in 1899 by Sir Charles Hanson, who would later become the Lord Mayor of London. It is said to be the inspiration for Toad Hall in the classic children’s novel The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame.
It was acquired by von Essen in 2006 as part of the Luxury Family Hotels group portfolio. Details: vonessenhotels.co.uk
