Freedom Leisure embraces fancy dress and moustaches to raise money for charities
Freedom Leisure, the leading not-for-profit trust that runs 23 leisure sites in Kent and Sussex, had a fantastic month in November, raising funds for Children in Need and The Prostate Cancer Charity, which re-named the month 'Movember'.
Across all Freedom Leisure sites, staff and customers got in the charitable spirit with fun games, fancy dress exercise classes, cake stalls and sponsored challenges, all to raise money for Children in Need.
Freedom Leisure sites and the surrounding communities managed to raise a fantastic £6,000 for Children in Need this year and the teams at each centre would like to thank everyone who took part for their generosity.
Male staff at a number of Freedom Leisure sites supported The Prostrate Cancer Charity in November by sporting moustaches or 'Mos'. 'Movember' as it has become known, challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men's health by growing a Mo for the 30 days of November. The nine strong team managed to raise £1,394 with the help of donations from Freedom Leisure customers for this worthwhile charity.
Jeff Hart, Freedom Leisure Managing Director said: "We are really proud of the charity work that took place in all our centres during November. It is great way for the local communities to join forces for a common cause and we know that our staff had tremendous fun raising these great totals. We look forward to next year and working within the community to make our fund raising events even bigger and better."
