Global Wellness Summit reveals agenda for longevity-themed event in Dubai

The Global Wellness Summit (GWS) has released its full agenda for the conference’s 19th annual edition, which will be held at the Mandarin Oriental in Downtown Dubai between 18-21 November.

The summit’s theme, Longevity Through a Wellness Lens, will bring together professionals from longevity disciplines and sub-sectors that are currently working in somewhat siloed conditions – from clinicians and innovators to operators and politicians.

More than 60 expert speakers will share their insights on the subject during the three-day event of keynote speeches, panels and research presentations.

The summit will be attended by more than 500 wellness executives, investors, policymakers, doctors and scientists from more than 50 countries.

The Global Wellness Institute will release its new wellness market research, the Global Wellness Economy Monitor 2025, with new projections through to 2029 for regional and national data on the performance of different wellness sectors.

How longevity science and trends are impacting traditional wellness sectors will be a hot topic.

Speakers on the subject of wellness as an evolving pillar of longevity will include:

• Anna Bjurstam, of Six Senses and Raison d’Etre – who will explain how spirituality is key to longevity

• Jiri Dvorak, professor emeritus of neurology, University of Zurich, and former chief medical officer for FIFA – will explore the importance of physical performance for longevity• Susanna Søberg, founder of the Søberg Institute – will discuss the effects of contrast therapy in terms of longevity

• Charlie Engle, global ultra-endurance athlete, will discuss “The Next Chapter in Resilience”• Joe DeSena, founder and CEO of Spartan, will discuss the role of sports, competition and the drive to achieve

• Manvendra Singh Shekhawat, managing director, Suryagarh Collection, and founder of Dhun and the I Love Foundation – will discuss why the focus needs to shift to planetary longevity• Anjan Chatterjee, professor of neurology, psychology and architecture, University of Pennsylvania – will argue that healthspan is simply not enough, and pose the question: why do we want to live longer?

Discussions on the impact of longevity on areas like beauty, senior living, travel, hospitality and real estate are also on the agenda.

Robert Hanea, founder and chair of Therme Group, will join Nancy Davis, chief creative officer and executive director of the GWS, to discuss “Democratising Wellness on an Unimaginable Scale”.

Meng-Mei Chen, PhD, assistant professor of marketing at École hôtelière de Lausanne, will unpack how hospitality firms can build resilience amid the compounding changes in the market, such as talent shortages, societal shifts and new technologies.
