Keith Rogers, managing director of Goals Soccer Centres, has been named Ernst and Young Consumer Services Entrepreneur of the Year 2005.

Rogers co-founded Anchor International which opened its first 5-a-side centre in 1987. As managing director, he oversaw the growth of that company to 11 branches before it was sold to 3i in 1999 for £28m.

In November 2000 he led the Management Buy In of Goals since when he has been the company’s managing director.

In December 2004 Goals Soccer Centres, the premier operator of “next generation” 5-a-side soccer centres across the UK, was listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Goals currently operates 14 UK centres welcoming 38,000 people a year and has 12 more sites scheduled to open in the next three years.
