Golf boost for Birmingham
Golf courses in Birmingham are set to be improved following an £850,000 investment from the City Council.
Cabinet member for leisure, sport and culture, Ray Hassell, approved the capital allocation, which will be delivered over three years, in an effort to improve the quality of the council’s seven golf courses.
“Following a satisfaction survey in November 2007, we have listened to our service users and have drawn up a capital investment programme, which will see a range of improvements to all of our seven golf courses across the city.
“This investment should greatly improve things over the next three years and we hope new and existing golfers will continue to enjoy using our services.”
The works will be undertaken at each site between now and 2010, including on course pathways, irrigation system improvements and car park repairs.
