Goodhew to headline careers event
Olympic swimming Gold medallist Duncan Goodhew has been unveiled as a speaker at the inaugural Careers in Sport + Leisure event taking place in Sheffield on 25-26 March.
A director of Premier Sport, one of the UK's largest providers of sports & PE instruction for primary school children, Goodhew has also raised more than £30m through Swimathon since 1988 and in 1994 helped to create the Youth Sport Trust. Other speakers at the event, which is designed to bring employers, trainers and young people interested in a career in sports and leisure together, include Phil Smith, director of sport for Sport England; Will Lloyd, director of Sports Recruitment International; Jamie Houchen, national tutor training manager at The FA; Simon Dickie, national development manager at the Amateur Rowing Association and Florence Orban, chief executive of the National Skills Academy for Sport and Active Leisure.
