Halo Leisure set to unveil Leominster gym
Halo Leisure is set to open a new split-level gym at Leominster Swimming Pool on Friday 12 January, following a £280,000 investment to double the size of the existing fitness facility.
The existing gym was a former single squash court conversion, but work has seen a further court converted and knocked through to make one larger space. A mezzanine floor has been installed to house strength and free weights equipment.
The 49-station gym is being supplied with remanufactured Life Fitness equipment from Physique. The project has been managed by Alliance Leisure.
Gym extensions by Alliance Leisure are also planned for two more of the centres operated by the sports trust. Hereford Leisure Centre will see a £270,000 conservatory-style extension built while Ross Sports Centre's fitness suite will be enlarged to cover 138sq m and offer 37 stations in a £180,000 project.
Last week the swimming centre celebrated its first anniversary and announced it has welcomed 4,000 people a week since opening on 4 January 2006.
Hadyn Roberts, centre manager, said: “The first year has been a great success for the pool, it has proved very popular and a valuable facility for the community. The opening of the new gym will also further enhance the experience for our customers. Long may it continue.”
