Hilton Worldwide is to expand its presence in Turkey with the opening in the port city of Izmir of the DoubleTree by Hilton Izmir - Alsancak.

The property was formerly the 4-star Yildizhan Hotel and will adopt its new branding during 2014 following the completion of an ongoing US$1m refurbishment.

Centrally located and close to the existing Hilton Izmir, it will be operated by Izzet Yildizhan Turizm and offer 115 guest rooms; a restaurant and bar; an 800sq m/8,600sq ft meeting space including four separate meeting rooms and a business centre.

A health club including a fitness centre and spa features a covered swimming pool, tennis, squash courts, sauna, steamroom and multiple treatment rooms.
