Holistic wellness concept FoodWell to open first site in Manchester
A new wellness concept, mixing exercise classes with healthy food, is preparing to launch its first site in Manchester.
FoodWell will offer group fitness classes – such as yoga, pilates and TRX – in combination with a 'mindful restaurant' and a series of workshops on healthy living options.
The company will take over a 9,000sq ft site at the mixed-use district New Bailey, close to the Spinningfields area of the city.
The site will be split into several sections, with each "sector" dedicated to an aspect of a healthy lifestyle.
The exercise studio – which will be operated by wellness platform Hero under its Rejuvenate concept – will have a capacity for up to 30 people.
The 150-cover restaurant will specialise in healthy foods.
"We're purposely not conforming to the traditional health club or restaurant sector, but instead creating something new," said Christian Coates, CEO of FoodWell.
"We want people to come in for lunch, maybe do a bit of work, attend an exercise class and have a superfood cocktails afterwards.
"Aside from the studio and restaurant space we will also host regular workshops and community events, such as art masterclasses and mindfulness workshops."
Commenting on the partnership with FoodWell, Joe Gaunt, CEO and founder of hero added: “This is a pioneering and concept.
"It demonstrates health and wellbeing shouldn’t be limited to health clubs and fitness centres."
