Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo unveils renovated Spa Métropole by Guerlain
Hôtel Métropole Monte‐Carlo in Monaco has revealed its renovated Spa Métropole by Guerlain as part of an extensive renovation project that saw the hotel reopen accommodation earlier this year and more rooms will be introduced later this quarter.
The redesign has been led by interiors architect Sami Itani of Itani and Courtois. The spa now features clean lines in a calming, light-filled space that offers a reflective retreat.
Itani’s mineral-inspired vision means the space now incorporates stone, raw wood and textures with natural tones and lighting that enhances the organic forms of the furnishings.
The new look is an update of the former spa’s design by Didier Gomez and a collaboration with the House of Guerlain. The beauty brand’s commitment to sustainability was a key driver in decisions to use durable materials and reduce environmental impact.
Facilities
The spa has 10 fully refurbished treatment rooms, a sauna and a hammam.
A cold bathing facility will be installed and launched in October.
There is also a fitness centre and an additional area by Bastien Gonzales for manicures and pedicures.
One of the spa’s treatment rooms will have an MLX Quartz treatment table by Gharieni.
It’s on this treatment bed that one of the spa’s new exclusive rituals will be delivered. Golden Sand is a 90-minute treatment inspired by the Monegasque Riviera, using the golden quartz stones to diffuse warmth. This treatment is priced at €400 (US$466, £344).
The Monaco Glow treatment is another 90-minute facial treatment that costs €350 (US$408, £301) and uses white quartz accessories to smooth facial features and relax the eyes under a cotton veil. Guerlain make-up is applied to conclude the therapy.
A third exclusive treatment has been designed for the hotel in this collection that celebrates the spirit of the Principality, called Puissance du Rocher. The 90-minute €350 (US$408, £301) ritual involves the use of stone accessories for a deep, fluid massage plus stretching and joint mobilisation therapies.
Treatments are available for all types of guests, with the menu catering not only for women, but with options for men, sensory experiences for children and rituals for couples.
Serge Ethuin, general manager, Hôtel Métropole Monte‐Carlo, said: “Guerlain’s storied legacy and dedication to holistic wellbeing align seamlessly with our vision for Hôtel Métropole Monte‐Carlo as a sanctuary of serenity and refinement.
“This collaboration with Guerlain captures the essence of what we are reimagining throughout the property: timeless sophistication, rooted in heritage yet continually redefined through innovation and emotional connection,” added Ethuin.
“The Spa Métropole by Guerlain marks more than a new chapter for the hotel, it is set to become a premier destination spa in Monaco, embodying the art of living and setting a new benchmark in wellness for those seeking not just relaxation, but a truly transformative, immersive experience,” he said.
