Hyatt Hotels & Resorts plans to open up to 16 new spas within new developments in the Asia Pacific region over the next three years.

The hotels – including 12 in China alone – will be operated under the Park Hyatt and Hyatt Regency brands.

The new properties incorporate the recently opened Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort, which features a luxury spa and is situated 80km (50 miles) from Tokyo.

A spokesperson said: “The Asia Pacific region remains of significant strategic importance to the group.”
