Industry expert Thomas Plummer to star at Business of Fitness Summit
Renowned US-based fitness industry expert Thomas Plummer has been announced as the headline speaker for next month’s Business of Fitness Summit in London.
The event, which takes place from 6-8 May at London Metropolitan University, will combine key business advice with high-level coaching tips. It is aimed at gym owners, bootcamp operators, personal trainers and coaches.
Author and business consultant Plummer will give a two-day workshop explaining how to make more money from fewer members or PT clients. He will outline “simple business systems” designed to overcome competitive markets, increase retention and drive sales leads.
“More has changed in the fitness industry during the last several years than during the past 30 years,” said Plummer.
“Maturing markets, the flat economy, the advent of the low-priced value club, and a much more sophisticated consumer have all combined to force the fitness business owner to change now or fail and leave room for owners who are willing to grasp the new reality.”
The Business of Fitness Summit will feature a mix of ‘learn by doing’ practical sessions, as well as lecture-based workshops with well-known fitness coaches including Andy McKenzie, Tom Crudgington, Jean-Claude Vacassin, Nick Grantham, Neil Parsley and Rachel Guy.
Performance Consultant Nick Grantham – who has worked at four Olympic Games and coached a range of professional sport teams, will be giving a speech on ‘Sticky Coaching’ – outlining what makes a great coach and how brilliant coaches can create lasting legacies.
