Kansas City Zoo to expand
Kansas City Zoo in Kansas, US, is improving its visitor attraction facilities.
The new attractions will include a North American river otter exhibit featuring large water pools, adjacent to the indoor and outdoor dining areas, as well as a Zoo Learning Center with classroom space, an auditorium and a library, thanks to a grant from the Zoo Learning Fund.
A new entry plaza will include a play area with child-friendly sculptures, shaded seating areas and a clock tower.
In addition, a new admission area will be linked to the two existing parking zones, which will be joined together and expanded, in order to shorten the walk for visitors to the zoo.
Zoo director Randy Wisthoff said: “These are the initial steps in what will be a series of major zoo improvements over the next few years. Kansas City deserves a world-class zoo, and we’re on track to see that become a reality.”
