Mind and body coach Kim Ingleby has landed the Personal Trainer of the Year prize at the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Fitness Awards.

Ingleby, who runs mind-body coaching company Energised Performance, was awarded the accolade for her leadership in using a combination of exercise, DNA testing, neuro-linguistic programming and nutrition to help her clients achieve health and fitness goals.

Her clients include Team GB athletes, first-time runners and those overcoming injury.

After winning her prize, she told Health Club Management: “This award is most definitely for all my clients around the World, who achieve great things and inspire me to develop my knowledge and take on new challenges.

“The health and wellness industry is a fast-paced, exciting one to be part of, and I’m excited about making a bigger global difference and helping people believe in themselves, let go of fear, take action on their goals and feel great in mind and body.”

The awards, which are in their second year, aim to recognise the work of fitness professionals.

Jay Banks, who has 15 years of industry experience, won the Group Fitness Instructor of the Year prize. Banks delivers fitness classes across a number of training disciplines, including dance, spin, boxing and aerobics. He also runs his own boot camp sessions and pilates clinic business.

He also works in partnership with Derby Cottage Osteopathic and Sports Injury Clinic training clients in Newmarket, Suffolk, and Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

Finally, The Club Gym in Glasgow won the Gym Team of the Year award for its implementation of innovative fitness programmes, which helped boost membership recruitment.

Trainer and presenter Fitzroy Gaynes, fitness and nutrition lecturer and course developer Richard Scrivener and personal trainer Chris Walton were on a panel that selected the winners.
