Lara: WI cricket infrastructure is 'terrible'

By Pete Hayman    17 Nov 2011

Brian Lara, one of the West Indies' most iconic cricketers, has labelled cricket infrastructure in the Caribbean as "terrible" at this year's World Travel Market in London.

According to reports, Lara told the Caribbean Tourism Organisation the relationship between players and the West Indies Cricket Board had gone "sour" and needed improving.

Lara said: "I think our infrastructure is terrible administratively, we have got it wrong on many occasions.

"Our player-board relationship - that has gone wrong for many years, gone sour, and we need to improve these things, fix it, set a base, get the infrastructure in, and then think about five, ten years down the line."
