Linzenich extends reach in Germany
German health and fitness operator Linzenich Fitnessgruppe recently opened its fifth Sportsclub4 club in Leverkusen.
The 1,000sq m (10,763sq ft) club has a studio for exercise classes, a barbell area, cable machines, a functional training area and a milon circuit. Nutritional therapy and personal training are also on offer.
Aiming to appeal to those looking for a reasonably priced membership – but still offering a variety of exercise options and individual support – membership fees start at €5.90 a month, with a one-off service charge of €59.90.
Linzenich Fitnessgruppe is owned by two brothers, Johannes and Marc Linzenich. The first site launched in 1982 in Gladbacher and was a combination of a “muscle factory and martial arts mecca”.
Nowadays the company has five different concepts across a total of 15 sites – located in Cologne, Olpe, Lindlar and Waldbröl. The six Family fitness clubs have high service standards and a broad offering of wellness, sports and health, with family-friendly fees. Meanwhile the two TOPfit gyms are price-conscious and performance-oriented, focusing on toning, weight loss and muscle building.
There is one KURSboutique studio – which offers an a la carte group fitness experience for women in a personal atmosphere – and one other women-only concept, Figurfabrik.
The remaining five clubs operate under the Sportsclub4 brand.
The group – which has been awarded a German quality mark for its training, environment and professionalism – also offers a corporate health management service which includes workplace health checks, healthy eating and relaxation courses which can take place in the workplace.
