London is Europe's hotel construction capital with 41 new top hotels in the pipeline, according to a new survey.

The report, carried out by B2B hotel data company Top Hotel Projects, list London as having the most active hotel construction projects, followed by Moscow, Berlin and Hamburg.

Europe's largest city Moscow, with a population of 11.6m, is a distant second to London with 29 planned hotels comprising 7,600 rooms.

With 24 hotel construction projects, featuring 6,200 rooms, Berlin is third position, closely followed by Hamburg with 23 planned hotels.

Istanbul, Europe's second largest city, counts 21 new hotel projects with 5,400 rooms while Paris has 18 top hotel projects in the pipeline.
