Directors, Aaron McCulloch and James Lorey, have completed a management buy-out of Your Personal Training (YPT) to become the sole owners and operators of Your Management Solutions Limited (YMSL).

YPT’s primary business is white labelling and providing an outsourced PT service for operators, offering a turnkey solution that means operators don’t have to run that part of their business. The company also offers the opportunity to qualify as a Level 3 Active IQ personal trainer; various CPD courses accredited by Active IQ, NASM and CIMSPA; it helps qualified PTs to find jobs and gives clients the opportunity to book PTs direct.

McCulloch and Lorey joined YPT in 2020, buying the brand out of bankruptcy, with the support of investors. Since their involvement the company has experienced a dramatic surge in growth, with revenue rising from £170,951.42 in 2021, to £2.074 million in 2023. Booking numbers for PT sessions have also steadily risen from 2,808 in 2019 to 11,753 in 2023.

Following the MBO there are further plans for growth, including expanding the brand’s presence across 1,000 clubs in the UK through further investment in emerging talent and technology. McCulloch and Lorey are also looking to expand the existing divisions within the company: Your Academy and Your Recruitment.

Lorey believes the company has untapped potential: “The growth achieved in such a short period is a testament to the hard work and strategic vision of our team and now we have complete ownership, we are excited to build on this momentum by expanding our global footprint and continuing to innovate within the fitness industry.”

McCulloch says owning the business gives the pair the necessary freedom and flexibility to expand YPT: “We are now focused on supporting more brands by providing master trainers, on-site services, and high-calibre training days with top-quality personal trainers. We're also exploring new ventures and acquisitions that will allow us to diversify our offering and extend our impact across the fitness industry.”
