McDonald’s lovin’ it on The Strand
The ‘most stylish McDonald’s in the world’ has opened on The Strand in London.
The new restaurant’s combination of chrome, leather armchairs, sophisticated lighting and glass is intended to ‘attract London’s glitterati’ and transform the site into a ‘star spotter’s paradise’.
Vogue magazine was enlisted to help with the opening and to showcase the restaurant’s re-design using its basement as a location for a four page fashion shoot in this month’s issue.
The Strand McDonald’s will be the flagship site and a series of 40 restaurant re-designs across the UK will now begin.
Restaurant spokesperson, Amanda Pierce, said: “We always have our fair share of stars in restaurants all over the country, but we believe even more of the beautiful people will come to The Strand once they see it in Vogue.
“The luxury new look offers customers the chance to dine in high style surroundings for a fraction of the cost. In terms of ladies who lunch, we think we can give Harvey Nichols or The Ivy a run for their money.”
