Merger forms Denmark's largest fitness chain
Two Danish fitness club companies, fitness dk and Fin Form, have merged, creating the country’s largest chain.
Once the operational merger is complete, the new company, which will be known as fitness dk, will move to list on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
Rasmus Ingerslev and Leif Christensen will be joint CEOs of fitness dk.
“With the merger we achieve a position through which we can offer our members even better products and services than we do already,” said Hans-Henrik Palm, chair of the company.
“But in the longer run, we also want to draw our members even closer to fitness dk.
“By offering them ownership, we will enable them to gain influence in the company. We want to attract investors with the same ambitions as ours: to improve the quality of life for Danes and give them the best facilities to achieve better health and wellbeing.”
He added that the company, which has three new openings planned for this year – in Odense, Gentofte and Copenhagen – is also looking for further acquisition opportunities.
The chain currently has 50,000 members and aims to have 100,000 within five years.
