Missoni to launch Turkish hotel in 2013
The Rezidor Hotel Group has revealed that the 138-room Hotel Missoni Belek, Antalya, Turkey is to open in 2013.
The Hotel Missoni brand debuted in 2009, with each hotel being personally designed by Rosita Missoni of the Missoni fashion house. The first property opened in Edinburgh, Scotland, and others are under development in Kuwait, Oman and Brazil. Hotel Missoni Belek, Antalya - with 110 guestrooms and 28 villas - will be a golf- and wellness resort forming a part of a mixed-use development featuring residential villas, a country club, a sports club, and boutique retail shops. Its focal point will be an 18-hole Annika Sörenstam-designed golf course adjacent to the hotel.
Facilities are to include two restaurants; a ballroom; meeting space; a 1,100sq m (11,840sq ft) spa and leisure area offering two swimming pools, a spa, Turkish baths and a fitness centre; and a kids club. In a further development, Rezidor took over the management of the existing 64-room Hotel Rezydent in Sopot, Poland on 1 December. The property is under common ownership with the nearby Radisson Blu Hotel, Gdansk, and will keep its former name.
