Multitrax to launch health club brand
Multitrax Group has announced plans to expand into the health club market, with the launch of two London clubs planned for January 2007.
The £15m project, designed by architect Dominic McSweeney, will see the group open two full-service Multitrax Concept Clubs offering fitness, swimming and day spa facilities.
Both clubs will cover 30,000sq ft (2,800sq m), the first located in a luxury, mixed-use development at Imperial Wharf in Fulham and the second at Royal Mint Court in Tower Hill, opposite the Tower of London.
Facilities will consist of gymnasiums, rock climbing walls, boxing rings, an altitude training chamber and sports specific training areas.
As well as ozone swimming pools and thalassotherapy areas, additional features will include live DJ sessions, an organic juice sports bar and bi-annual charity social events.
The clubs will also offer day spas, featuring 10 treatment rooms offering traditional rituals, medi-spa treatments and alternative therapies, as well as rehabilitation services.
Alongside a strong emphasis on personal training, each club will have six exercise studios and a heavy focus on group fitness. There will be a Multitrax indoor cycling suite, a dedicated Pilates Institute room with reformers and other pilates equipment and a Gravity-supplied suite for group personal training and strength classes, plus areas for mind-body classes, group fitness and martial arts.
Multitrax managing director Spencer McGuiness says: “We hope to bring an innovative and edgy premium product to the market.”
Further expansion includes five additional sites planned for London, with the intention to open in 2008/2009.
