New head of business tourism for VisitBritain
VisitBritain, the group responsible for marketing tourism within the UK and abroad, has appointed Jeremy Brinkworth as its new head of business tourism.
Jeremy, who has worked for the British Tourist Authority – VisitBritain’s predecessor – for 23 years, brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role. Having taken a similar post between 1998 and 2000, he has most recently been responsible for developing overseas marketing campaigns.
According to VisitBritain, Jeremy’s return to business tourism reflects the growing importance of the business travel sector, which is now Britain’s biggest and fastest-growing market sector.
He will report to international marketing director, Kenny Boyle and will work closely with a network of business tourism specialists in regional offices throughout the world.
Speaking about his new role, Jeremy said: “There is a huge potential to develop the business tourism market further, especially in the premium sectors of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
“Britain already has some fantastic products in these sectors and I am looking forward to working with the industry to see how we can become even more competitive.” Details: www.visitbritain.com
