New park to form part of London scheme
A new waterside park alongside the Grand Union Canal has been mooted as part of a major new development - Park Royal City - to be built around a new 'rail super hub' at Old Oak Common, London.
Sir Terry Farrell has drawn up proposals for the scheme, which will transform the area into a new city for London and will feature homes and businesses around the high speed rail project. Images for the development were drawn up as part of Hammersmith and Fulham Council's submission to the government in support of the High Speed Rail 2 (HS2) project.
Council leader Stephen Greenhalgh said: "HS2 is the fastest way to deliver much need new homes, jobs and opportunities in one of London's poorest areas. "HS2 will be the catalyst to create Park Royal City - transforming the capital's Bermuda Triangle of inactivity into a thriving new city."
