Five leisure centres owned by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) are to be operated by a new trust formed in partnership with Parkwood Leisure.

The local authority agreed to the proposal as part of efforts to achieve savings of around £112,000 a year, with the arrangement scheduled to come into force in April 2011. A RBC spokesperson said: "This one example of thinking differently where money can be saved with no effect on service."
