North Country Leisure sets up trust to manage Copeland facilities
A new trust has been set up to manage Copeland Borough Council’s leisure facilities.
Leisure Copeland – part of North Country Leisure, which operates leisure facilities in Tynedale and Alnwick District Council areas under the names Leisure Tynedale and Leisure Alnwick – will manage the Whitehaven Sports Centre, Copeland Swimming Pool, Copeland Bowls Centre and Whitehaven Civic Hall.
All staff at the centres have been transferred to the new organisation.
North Country Leisure’s chair, David Thompson, said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to become involved in the development of services provided in Copeland.
“We look forward to working with local people, staff in the centres and with the borough council to provide excellent sports and leisure experiences for all.” Details: www.northcountryleisure.org.uk
