Olympic travel push makes 'no difference' to Londoners

By Pete Hayman    17 Jul 2012

The government's Get Ahead of the Games travel campaign has made "no difference" to 56 per cent of Londoners, according to new research from Motors.co.uk.

YouGov has undertaken the study on behalf of the used car website, which showed just 22 per cent of participants had made allowances following the launch of the campaign.

More than a third (38 per cent) of London residents believe the Games will have an impact on their travel plans, and 23 per cent said disruption was a "small price to pay".

Motors.co.uk commercial director Phill Jones said: "The results reflect that chaos may be looming, as many are unconvinced by the city's ability to handle additional volumes of people."
