Peterborough City Council (PCC) is to hold a consultation meeting on 12 October over revised plans for a new all-weather sports pitch at the Orton Longueville School campus.

Local residents will be given the opportunity to discuss the scheme with councillors at the event, which follows the withdrawal of initial proposals in July. The council is now planning to submit a fresh planning application, which will see the pitch repositioned in order to move it further from a tree-belt that separates the site from nearby houses.

A PCC spokesperson said: "The proposed location has been chosen to avoid archaeological remains in other parts of the school campus and to meet Sport England requirements to protect existing sports pitches."
