Parkwood to operate Exeter bowls centre
Exeter City Council (ECC) has appointed Parkwood Leisure to operate the Isca Centre after deciding against the renewal of a previous lease agreement.
The indoor bowls facility boasts an eight-rink bowling green lit to international standard, as well as a 28-table bridge suite; a bar and restaurant; and spaces for conferences and meetings. Parkwood Leisure recently secured a 10-year deal with ECC to operate all local authority-owned sports and leisure facilities across the city.
Rob Hannaford, lead councillor for environment and leisure at ECC, said: "Isca Centre Ltd has done a great job over the last 10 years, but we believe that the time has come to maximise the performance of this valuable recreational asset. "Parkwood has its own marketing and promotion staff who can promote this excellent facility, not just for bowls but for other activities, social functions and even conferences."
