Phillips takes over presidency of ISRM
The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM) has appointed Ken Phillips as its new president.
Phillips, who has been a member of the ISRM since 1986, will hold the position for one year.
"The next year will see the transformation of the ISRM, with the development of a single sports body to represent the industry,” he said.”
“This opportunity allows us to progress the issues that matter in sport, building on the solid foundations the ISRM has already created. I relish the challenge going forward."
Ralph Riley, chief executive of the ISRM, said: “We are delighted to have Ken inaugurated as president. His work to develop fitness, health and social inclusion through sport in local communities over the years makes him ideally placed to drive the institute forward.
“With sport and health becoming increasingly important on the political agenda, the ISRM and Ken will be pushing on the issues that matter for members and the public."
