The winners of this year’s Young Chef, Young Waiter Competition will be announced at the prestigious National Final Awards Dinner to be held on Monday 15 October at the InterContinental London Park Lane.
There will be a Champagne Louis Roederer Reception followed by a Gala Dinner prepared by an award winning team of chefs.
Phil Howard at The Square, former Chair of Chef Judges, is as enthusiastic as ever in his support for the competition and will unite with Theo Randall and Michel Gehrig at the InterContinental as well as past winners Neil Borthwick (Maison Pic); Brett Graham (The Ledbury) and Warwick Dodds (Stanley House) to produce a sumptuous dinner to salute the industry’s most prodigious talent.

Now in its 23rd year, the Young Chef Young Waiter Competition, organized by The Restaurant Association and British Hospitality Association is run in partnership with American Express, the Savoy Educational Trust, Champagne Louis Roederer, HSBC, CMA, EBLEX, Sodexho and Restaurant Magazine.
It is recognized as one of the leading contests to identify the rising stars of the industry. Viewed by the trade as the industry’s premier award, it is aimed at under 24’s who are passionate about food and service.
Selected from four regional heats, national finalists from many leading establishments in the UK will compete side by side at Westminster Kingsway College on 15 October under the watchful eye of Bruce Poole (Chez Bruce), Chair of Chef Judges and Jeremy Rata (De Vere Grand Brighton), Chair of Waiter Judges overseeing an unrivalled roll call of judges boasting a plethora of Michelin stars.
