Five-a-side football centre operator Powerleague has more than doubled its interim profits.

Sales during the six months to 31 December 2005 were up 21 per cent at £9.5m, while the company recorded pre-tax profits of £1.4m – an increase of 107 per cent on 2004.

Powerleague opened two new centres in September 2005, increasing the number of sites to 32.
