Powerscourt Springs health farm and hotel in Co Wicklow, Ireland, is to close with the loss of a reported 67 jobs.

The proposed closure of the 25-treatment room property, located just outside the village of Enniskerry, will take place on 21 October and comes after the sale of the 42-acre Powerscourt estate, to an unknown buyer.

The health farm will continue to operate as normal until that date.

Speaking to the Irish Times, general manager Susan Flood confirmed that the new owners would not continue to run the health farm. She said: "I would like to thank our staff for their commitment in making Powerscourt Springs one of Ireland's most successful health farms.
