Prime Time continues Frankfurt growth
German operator Prime Time Fitness recently opened its fifth facility.
The health club operator, which was founded by MD Henrik Gockel in 2010, offers small, conveniently located health clubs, all in residential or corporate areas of the city of Frankfurt. The clubs – which are kitted out by Cybex, Freemotion and milon – offer cardio, strength and functional training, but no classic group exercise. There are, however, small group training sessions on the gym floor. Personal training is also available.
The latest club – measuring 1,700sq m (18,298sq ft) – is larger than the operator’s usual model and includes a lap pool. As a result, membership costs from €70 (US$74, £49) a month as opposed to the standard €60 (US$64, £42).
“But it still feels like a Prime Time club,” said Gockel. “It maintains a small club feel.”
Open from 6am till midnight, the gyms are staffed the whole time, with all staff educated to BA or Masters level – Gockel himself is a university teacher as well as running Prime Time Fitness.
Various pricing options are available at Prime Time Fitness: €60 (US$64, £42) a month gives you basic membership, €300 (US$320, £210) a month includes one PT session a week, and €600 (US$640, £420) a month includes three PT sessions a week.
In addition, the fourth site – which is located very close to the first – is a PT-only studio for those who want a quieter space for personal training. It’s priced at €700 (US$742, £493) a month, which includes up to three PT sessions a week and access to all other Prime Time clubs.
