Independently owned and operated Pulse Gym in Ripley teamed up with the local Sainsbury's supermarket to raise money for Sport Relief.

The gym organised a sponsored row at the local Sainsbury's store, with the target being the equivalent distance of rowing from Dover to Calais and back again.

The event was coupled by a sponsored bike ride in store.

The event was just one that marketing agency Creative Fitness Marketing (CFM) helped independent clubs organise across the UK for Sport Relief.

Dean Godfrey, UK General Manager of CFM, attributed the success of the event - and the others organised by CFM - down to the company being a national partner of Change4Life.

"Being a recognized national partner of Change4Life enabled us to have numerous stalls at local shopping centres on behalf of the hundreds of independent health clubs that we work with in the UK," he said.
