Refurbished hotel creates new model for social enterprise
London’s MIC Euston House hotel has begun further refurbishment of its lobby and atrium areas following the success of a recent development, which saw the transformation of 28 bedrooms into hotel rooms alongside the creation of a bar restaurant and conference facilities.
Situated near to Euston Station and operated by Methodist church organisation MIC since 1998, the original role of the property was to provide affordable accommodation for multi-faith, multi-cultural students on a national and international basis.
However, due to the financial success of the first refurbishment, MIC will now move the student accommodation into a separate purpose-designed building, in order to free up additional space.
Targeted at the short-stay professional and the weekend getaway markets, hotel bedrooms are typically only 161.5sq ft (15 sq m) but each has been individually planned to maximise space. Details: www.micentre.com
