Register of Exercise Professionals to poll members
The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) is to poll its members in a bid to ascertain why people leave the industry.
The survey will be aimed at three groups of members, with each group answering between 10 and 12 questions.
REPs Registrar Cliff Collins said: “We are aware that the industry has a reasonably transient workforce but we would like to see if we can spot any trends that could be rectified either by us as a register or addressed by the industry as a whole.”
The three groups will be:
1. New members who have recently qualified and joined REPs (most likely to be registrations through approved training providers) to cover questions concerning motivation for joining the industry, expectations, understanding of the Register, rating of registration process.
2. A mature member survey based on members who have re-registered at least once. Questions will be based on how the industry has met expectations, career development, performance of the Register in handling registration / re-registration, quality of information, etc.
3. Those who have not re-registered, to determine if they have left the industry and, if so, what occupation have they taken. Also to assess their experience of the Register.
