Jacques Rogges has been re-elected as president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) following a vote of members in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Members at the IOC's 121st session voted 88-1 in favour of re-electing Rogge, who was first elected as president eight years ago at the 112st session in Moscow, Russia. Since taking up the role, the IOC has increased its financial reserves to more than US$400m (£251m, €272) and has introduced a routine review of the Olympic sports programme.

Outlining his plans for his second term in office, Rogge said: "We will continue to support National Olympic Committees and the International Federations, and we will defend the autonomy of sport wherever it is threatened. "We will redouble our efforts to place sport at the service of mankind - to inspire young and old alike; to give athletes the opportunity to lead by example; and promote the Olympic values of fair play, respect, solidarity and the pursuit of excellence."
