Rusedski unveils new Fulham tennis courts
Greg Rusedski, the former British number one tennis player, has helped officially open new £378,000 tennis facilities at Bishops Park in Fulham, London.
The venue now boasts 12 refurbished tennis courts and four mini-courts built specifically to be used by younger players. Five of the full-size courts also have floodlighting. Hammersmith and Fulham Council invested £208,000 in the project, while the Lawn Tennis Association provided £150,000. Sport England and The Queen's Club also contributed.
Rusedski said: "The more facilities we have like this, the more chance we have of becoming a successful tennis nation. "The children's courts are particularly good. All of the most successful tennis nations coach their children on small courts so that is certainly the way forward."
