Sheffield International Venues (SIV) will invest £200,000 in redeveloping its Tinsley Park Golf Course.

The course, founded in 1920, is one of four golf sites operated by SIV in the area.

Work will include upgrading the clubhouse, changing rooms and public areas.

The revamp is the first phase of SIV's investment plan for Tinsley Park, which will see the course receive further funding for more substantial works in the next five years.

Andy Carnall, golf manager at SIV, said: "A portion of the money will be spent on repairs to the outer shell of the building, and the majority will be spent on decorating the interior of the building, particularly the Pro Shop and Changing Rooms."

SIV currently operates 14 venues in Sheffield, including Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, the English Institute of Sport - Sheffield and iceSheffield.
