SSC partners with University of Oregon
Singapore Sports Council (SSC) has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Oregon, US, in a bid to enhance the local sports industry.
The five-year agreement will link local students with sports-related education and experience in Oregon, while also providing university graduates with a chance to work with SSC.
It is also hoped that local sports leaders in Singapore will benefit from learning opportunities in the "TrackTown USA" culture at the University of Oregon.
Meanwhile, SSC is aiming to identify how to build and sustain excitement in sports through its work with the university, which will facilitate meetings with some of its industry partners.
SSC chair Richard Seow said: "Through the MOU, Singapore has a great opportunity to improve the capabilities of our sports professionals working within the sporting industry.
"With the construction of the Sports Hub well underway, we need to focus our efforts on developing the capabilities of our leaders in sports business and administration."
SSC chief executive officer Lim Teck Yin added: "This partnership will no doubt infuse more energy, efficiency and innovation in the development of our sports industry."
